24/7 Pendulum Floor Testing where required

Our floor testing services are offered across the UK and on an urgent 24/7 basis when required at affordable prices for floor slip testing to BS 7976-2 and/or BS13036-4

Background to FloorSlip independent floor testers

After many years of association with floor coating companies, SkidProof and SlipRisk,  the former MD of those companies (Now the Southern Regional Manager for FloorSlip) reported many architects, builders and designers chose to ignore or simply did not understand that floors must be safe when specified and the majority of floors are simply quite unsafe and illegal. Furthermore some floor and floor coating companies offer products based on Pendulum Testing they conducted themselves, the testing they performed was not independent or impartial and it was observed on many occasions that the highly sensitive Pendulum Testing Equipment were not cared for, handled correctly and not calibrated as is required annually under BS 7976-3. Furthermore, the floor testers were not trained and did not respect British Standards nor UKSRG Guidelines

It was time for a change and FloorSlip was formed around 9 years ago. FloorSlip offer unbiased / impartial Independent floor Pendulum Testing conducted in accordance British Standards for Floor Testing (BS 7976-2) and BS 13036-4 or UKSRG Guidelines; we only use HSE approved Pendulum Testing Equipment built in the UK to BS 7976-1 and calibrated annually  to British Standards BS 7976-3. We do not sell or promote any other flooring product making our services suitable for businesses (see our client list) and Slip Injury Lawyers alike (View the Solicitors we work for) and we have become one of the leading providers of Expert Witness services for Slip Injury Claims offering affordable Expert Witness Services at very reasonable prices and on split payment terms

FloorSlip can allow you as manager or employer to meet your legal duty of care to ensure floor safety at work as defined by Health and Safety Laws on Floors.

Why Floor Slip choose to be independent

In our opinion flooring companies offering floor testing could be biased in offering flooring solutions and lead you to choosing floor coverings, which might not provide true correct slip resistant properties to prevent the slip on floor scenarios for the work environment its placed in – for example, would a non slip floor coating designed to prevent a slippery floor surface in the kitchen work as well on the oil rigs?

How FloorSlip Test Floors

FloorSlip agents conduct the floor slip testing to methods dictated by FloorSlip Head Office and in accordance with standards set by the HSE* and aligned with the recommendations of the UKSRG*. Floor Slip Risk assessments include: -

1. Visual Floor Checks and floor risk analysis looking for effective floor cleaning, slip and fall hazards and correct safety footwear

2. Surface Roughness Tests to build up recorded evidence of floor conditions and can be used to monitor wear of slippery flooring over time to give you early signs of loss of grip potential

3. Flooring Advice on floor materials, suppliers and coatings, such as acid etch; there are no typical floors; each environment requires different floor properties

4. Pendulum Testing to determine the ‘Coefficient Of Friction’ (CoF) – the technical term for the Slip Resistance Value (SRV).
