H&S Courses on Slips, Trips and Falls

An ‘On Site’ Practical course in learning how to prevent Trips, Slips and Falls in the workplace

FloorSlip consider our practical ‘ON-SITE’ course in slips, trips and falls is a far more effective and relevant way to learn about why Slips and Trips occur in YOUR WORKPLACE than sitting bored in a classroom. In a classroom, candidates cannot relate the course to their work environment, so we come to you and conduct the course in a real world environment - YOURS. We also include demonstration of the Floor Testing Equipment and all candidates get to ‘have a go’.

More Cost Effective than classroom based training courses in Slip and Trips

….the candidates learn about ‘Your Business’ and not learn some generic notes from PowerPoint slides, which gather dust minutes after the course!….

It’s also a lot cheaper than sending candidates on a course as well – No Hotel bills to pay; No Travel to pay; No Risk Assessment to do; minimised time off work for candidates and the single price of £799 (No VAT) covers up to 4 candidates. And the candidates learn about ‘Your Business’ and not learn some generic notes from PowerPoint slides, which gather dust minutes after the course!

Bonus to you

Whilst showing candidates how to test floors, then provided a proper test is conducted, then FloorSlip will provide a floor test certificate for that floor (Limit of 1 floor)

Why do a Slip and Trip Training Course in the first place?

The largest physical area of any business is the floor, and the people who use the floor (staff, customers and visitors) – so it stands to reason that the greatest risk to any business is floor safety and the risk of Slips, trips and falls. The HSE/HSL will support this claim as well.

Why the practical approach works better on a Slips and Trips Training Course

….Candidates will quickly be able to determine what floors are likely to be safe and what are not – these are lessons they can take forward to selecting floors and assessing floor safety

We adopt a more practical approach of see and tell; we do a little theory to start but more so, we go around your premises with your candidates discussing the different floors and whether they are safe or not safe and the reasons why or why not. The visual approach quickly embeds lessons that can be applied on any floor around your business.

We play a little game with your candidates of ‘guess the floor slip resistance value’ (known as the PTV or Pendulum Test Value) and we then use the Pendulum floor testing equipment and Surface Roughness Test equipment to prove how accurate the assessment was. Candidates will quickly be able to determine what floors are likely to be safe and what are not – these are lessons they can take forward to selecting floors and assessing floor safety.

What type of establishments do you apply the slips and trips courses to?

From Hospitals and Care Homes to Hotels, Factories and Airports; from Changing Rooms to Swimming Pools; Football grounds and Railway Stations and even oil rigs!! There aren’t many we haven’t seen or tested – see a list of some of the floors we’ve tested

How long does the course floor slip training course last?

Approximately 4 hours – we aim to start around 8.30am and finish by lunchtime; the morning is always the best time to learn, the afternoon is the best time to reflect and discuss internally what was learnt. No looking at the clock on this course!
